The City Council, during its March 11 meeting, gave final approval to an amendment to the city’s stormwater management ordinance, aiming to update regulations for new developments along the Fox River corridor. The measure, which passed 6-1 with Alderman David Chen casting the lone dissenting vote, emphasizes permeable surfaces and enhanced runoff retention systems. City Administrator Stephanie Miller noted the changes align with regional efforts to mitigate flooding and improve water quality. The ordinance had been a subject of extensive review by the Plan Commission over the past several months. View City Council Agenda - March 11, 2026
