City Government

Fire & EMS
Sanford Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to 98 calls for service this past week, including 65 EMS calls, 12 fire alarms, and 5 motor vehicle accidents. On June 13, units responded to a brush fire off Shaw's Ridge Road, quickly containing the blaze to a quarter-acre with assistance from the Acton Fire Department through a mutual aid agreement. No structures were threatened. On June 15, firefighters extinguished a small electrical fire in the basement of a commercial building on School Street, caused by faulty wiring. Occupants were safely evacuated, and damages were limited.
Real Estate
According to records from the York County Registry of Deeds, several properties changed hands in Sanford this past week.
- 14 Elmwood Avenue, a three-bedroom ranch style home, sold for $315,000.
- A commercial lot at 22 Airport Road, zoned for light industrial use, was purchased by Gateway Development LLC for $450,000, indicating further investment in the airport district.
- 87 Main Street in Springvale, a two-unit residential building, sold for $380,000.
- 35 Water Street, a waterfront cottage on Number One Pond, sold for $495,000.
