City Government

On Saturday, March 29, crews responded to a structure fire on Deering Street. Firefighters quickly contained the blaze to the kitchen area of a single-family home, preventing further spread. No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation. Additionally, Sanford EMS provided mutual aid to the town of North Berwick for a medical emergency on Tuesday, March 31.

Real Estate

Several property transactions were recorded this week at the York County Registry of Deeds. A three-bedroom, two-bathroom home located at 14 Elmwood Avenue sold for $315,000. Additionally, a commercial lot spanning 2.5 acres on Airport Road, zoned for light industrial use, was purchased by Northern Logistics LLC for $1.1 million. A two-unit rental property at 8 Oak Street changed hands for $380,000, and a single-family residence at 27 River Street in Springvale sold for $295,000.
