Town Government

Driver Eleanor Vance, 68, of Millinocket, sustained minor injuries after her sedan struck a deer. On Friday, police investigated a reported theft from a local business on Katahdin Avenue, where security footage showed a suspect taking several items valued at approximately $150. Officers also addressed several noise complaints throughout the week, primarily related to late-night gatherings.

Fire & EMS

Millinocket Fire and EMS responded to 28 calls this week, including 20 for emergency medical services and 8 fire-related incidents. On Saturday, units responded to a brush fire off Medway Road, which was quickly contained to approximately one-quarter acre with assistance from the Medway Fire Department through a mutual aid agreement. Paramedics also transported a 72-year-old resident to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor following a medical emergency on Prospect Street.

According to Penobscot County Registry of Deeds filings this week:

  • 14 Elm Street, a three-bedroom ranch-style home built in 1960, sold for $195,000.
  • 27 Pine Street, a two-unit rental property, was purchased for $260,000 by Katahdin Properties LLC.
