Town Government

The Millinocket Town Council convened on Tuesday, March 25, 2026, for its regular bi-weekly meeting, addressing a range of municipal priorities from infrastructure development to community well-being. Town Manager Sarah Jenkins presented an update on ongoing Community Development Block Grant projects, highlighting progress on residential rehabilitation initiatives. Council members reviewed the latest bid packages for properties at 61 Penobscot Avenue, 204 Penobscot Avenue, and 122 Penobscot Avenue (TOWN OF MILLI CDBG BID PACKAGE 61 PENOBSCOT, TOWN OF MILLI CDBG BID PACKAGE 204 PENOBSCOT, TOWN OF MILLI CDBG BID PACKAGE 122 PENOBSCOT), with bids expected to be awarded in April. Discussions also covered the forthcoming fiscal year 2027 budget planning. While specific figures were not finalized, Town Manager Jenkins outlined preliminary projections for municipal and wastewater department needs, referencing last year's special council public hearing on the FY26 municipal wastewater budget as a precedent for thorough review (4 17 2025 SpclCouncil1stPH FY26MunicplWW).
