City Government

Fire & EMS
The Lewiston Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to 187 calls this past week, including 131 medical emergencies and 56 fire-related incidents. On Saturday, June 13, crews responded to a two-alarm structure fire at a multi-family residence on Ash Street. Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, preventing its spread to adjacent buildings. One resident was displaced but no injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation. On Wednesday, June 17, Lewiston EMS provided mutual aid to the Auburn Fire Department for a motor vehicle accident on Minot Avenue near the city line, transporting two individuals with moderate injuries to the hospital.
Real Estate
According to records from the Androscoggin County Registry of Deeds, several properties changed hands in Lewiston this week:
- 12 Elm Street, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom single-family home, sold for $285,000. The buyer was Sarah Peterson, and the seller was the Estate of John Davis. The deed was recorded on June 15.
- 78 Lincoln Street, a commercial storefront property, was purchased by Downtown Holdings LLC for $410,000 from Riverbend Properties Inc. The sale, recorded June 17, is part of ongoing revitalization efforts.
- 22 Oak Avenue, a duplex residential property, sold for $355,000 to the Ahmed Family from prior owners Michael and Lisa Chen. The transaction was recorded on June 16.
- A vacant lot at 5 South Avenue, zoned for residential development, was acquired by Green Space Developers for $95,000 from private seller Robert Evans. The deed was recorded June 18.
